Santa Claus is coming to town –
but that’s not all!

The Somerville Business &
Professional Association will host several visits from Santa Claus
in the weeks leading up to Christmas as well as live entertainment
throughout the holiday season and carriage rides down Main Street.
Santa will be at TD Bank, 50 W. Main
St., on Dec. 3rd, 10th & 17th, all Thursday nights, from 6-8 p.m.
where children can visit and give Santa their Christmas gift wish
list. Free photos will be taken of the children with Santa each of
those three nights. Everyone is asked to bring a donation of canned
goods which the SBPA will deliver to area food banks.
Santa will also be in Somerville at TD
Bank on two Saturdays, Dec. 5th and Dec. 12th,
from 11 a.m-2 p.m for more visits with children. Photos will also be
taken on those two dates.
Santa will make one final stop in
Somerville on Dec.19th for lunch at Central Pizzeria, 126
W. Main St., from noon-3 p.m.
Roving Carolers, musicians and other live entertainment will be featured downtown Somerville throughout the Christmas season, beginning Saturday, Nov. 28th, when the Somerville Holiday Jubilee kicks off with the annual tree lighting ceremony on the lawn at Borough Hall, preceded by the arrival of Santa Claus on a fire truck accompanied by Somerville’s volunteer firefighters. This will also be the first of several nights where visitors can take free carriage rides on Main Street.
Free gingerbread cookies will be handed out to the kids, courtesy of the Dessert Plate, 34 E. Main St., with an ice carving demonstration on outside Wishes & Dreams, 56 W. Main Street. Stores and restaurants will be open late.
Live holiday music will be performed Dec. 5th, 12th and 19th from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. by several groups – the Immaculata High School choir, the Somertones, Mirror Image, the Raritan Valley choral group, Dixie Mix and Sweet Revival. The Deer Ridge Singers Holiday Concert begins 7 p.m. Dec. 13th at the United Reformed Church, 100 W. Main St.
In addition to the free carriage rides sponsored each Friday night by the District Management Corporation, the SBPA and Team Capital Bank will host carriage rides on Saturday, Dec. 12th from noon- 3 p.m. on Main Street.
